The Cadillac Escalade is a full-size luxury sport utility vehicle (SUV) sold by the General Motors luxury brand, Cadillac. It was the division's first major entry into the popular SUV market. The Cadillac Escalade was introduced for the 1999 model year in response to German and Japanese competitors and to Ford's 1998 release of the Lincoln Navigator. The Cadillac Escalade project went into production only ten months after it was approved. The Escalade is built in Arlington, Texas, USA. The name Escalade refers to a siege warfare tactic of scaling defensive walls or ramparts with the aid of ladders or siege towers.
The Cadillac Escalade was originally based on the GMC Yukon Denali, but was redesigned for the 2002 model year to make its appearance fall more in line with Cadillac's new design theme. Today, the Cadillac Escalade and Cadillac Escalade EXT pickup are two of only three Cadillac vehicles made outside of the United States. Both the Cadillac Escalade ESV (Based on the Chevrolet Suburban) and Escalade EXT (based on the Avalanche sport utility truck) were made in Silao, Mexico, before the 2006 redesign; the new Cadillac Escalade ESV is sourced from Arlington, Texas. The Cadillac Escalade ESV competes with the Range Rover Sport, Infiniti QX56, Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, Lexus LX, Toyota Land Cruiser, Land Rover LR3 and Lincoln Navigator.

The current generation is sold as the LR2 in North America and as the Land Rover Freelander 2 in Europe. It uses a monocoque (unibody) structure, unlike traditional SUVs built with a body-on-frame design.The second generation Land Rover Freelander is based on the EUCD platform, which itself is based on the C1 platform. The EUCD platform will be used by more upcoming vehicles from Volvo. The Dodge Caliber is a compact car produced by the Dodge division of Chrysler. It replaced the Neon, and went on sale in the spring of 2006 as a 2007 model year vehicle. The Dodge Caliber has a five-door hatchback body, but because of its bulkier appearance, can also be considered both a station wagon or a crossover.
The Dodge Caliber concept was revealed at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show and featured styling elements derivative of larger Dodge vehicles, such as a crosshair grille, rough border angles and flared fenders. The pre-production version debuted on January 10, 2006 at the North American International Auto Show, before it went on sale in March of the same year.
Following Dodge Caliber's success in North America in 2007, it became the first Dodge car to be sold to European, Asian, and Australasian markets since the discontinuation of Dodge Colt in 1994. Currently, it remains the smallest and the least expensive vehicle of the whole brand which sells well in the United States and Canada, despite poor quality/value ratio on foreign markets.
After Chrysler began a strategic alliance with Fiat Motors in early 2010, the company announced that the Dodge Caliber will be replaced by a second generation starting 2012 (though whether this is the model year or the production year has not been specified). According to Sergio Marchionne, the next generation of the Dodge Caliber is planned to feature a nine-speed automatic transmission starting 2013.

The Honda City is a subcompact car manufactured by the Japanese manufacturer Honda since 1981. Originally made for the Japanese, European and Australasian markets, the Honda City was retired without replacement in 1994. The nameplate was then revived for use on a series of compact four door sedans particularly aimed at developing markets, mainly sold in Asia outside of Japan but lately also in Latin America and Australia.
